Feast of San Michele
On September 29th, the feast of the Patron Saint of Carmignano!
Culmination of the festival that for three days characterizes, every year, the main square and the center of the town. This is a very heartfelt competition that sees the town divided into four distinct districts: that of the Archangel (Celeste), that of Art (Green), that of the Lion (Yellow) and finally that of the Tower (White). Each district gives life to characteristic and touching shows during the respective folk parades. Another very important phase is then the Palio dei Donkeys whose outcome, together with the acclaim received for the parades, determines the final winner.
September in Carmignano therefore means prizes and parades, with dances and allegorical floats: the sparkling event, conceived between 1931 and 1932, is still capable of setting fire to the souls of an entire town today. Attending the San Michele is therefore certainly a good way to discover Carmignano, its traditions and the many local products.
