Via Medicea, the journey through the Medici's places
The route uses ancient roads that connect the Medici Cascine of Prato with the three UNESCO heritage villas, the Medici Villa of Poggio a Caiano, the Medicean Villa La Ferdinanda of Artimino and the Medici Villa of Cerreto Guidi and the Montalbano.
BOTANICAL GARDEN IN FLORENCE
Between Florence and Fiesole the largest Botanical Garden in Italy
The "Romantic Park Queen" covers about 50 acres between Florence and Fiesole, with twelve kilometers of trails. Its name is a tribute to Queen Victoria who inaugurated it in 1893. It was reopened on April 21th 2015. Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Benedetto and Giuliano da Maiano and Boccaccio worked in these places. This garden was the location for the movie 'Room with a View' winner of three Academy Awards in 1987.
