INFORTEZZA 2010 FLORENCE

From July the 15th to August the 7th, Fortezza da Basso

Infortezza, at her 3rd edition, reconfirms herself the Florentine summer's principal event. It will be the thousands people's meeting place that fill the spaces of the suggestive Fortezza da Basso. This event will featured by the presence of various areas that will offer to the visitor many leisure opportunities typical of the summer evenings. The arena shows will become a space After Show with music and cabaret; the big Library will consent to walk between thousands of volumes and to buy the books for any type of holiday; the ''latin square'' will offer nightly typical latin american food, shows and music for dancing; bar, restaurants, pubs, exhibitions, meetings, exhibition stands, will complete the offer within the Fortezza’s area.


PARIS IS WELL WORTH A MASS! FLORENCE 2010

From July15th 2010, Medici Chapel’s Museum

From July 15th 2010 at Museo delle Cappelle Medicee of Florence it will take place the exhibition “Paris well is worth a mass!” The Medici’s tribute to Henry IV, King of France’’.
Four-hundred years after the murder of Henry IV, happened in Paris on May 14th 1610, the Florence Soprintendendenza and Museo delle Cappelle Medicee, together with Château de Pau’s National Museum, are going to  celebrate the King of France and Navarra.
The fulcrum of the exhibition is in the 19 monochrome canvases that Cosimo II de’ Medici ordered to Florentine academic painters to celebrate the funeral rite of Henry IV in Basilica of San Lorenzo: canvases were fixed on the church’s walls and shown the king’s heroic deeds and virtues, in order to perpetuate his glory even after his death.
During the exhibition there will be shown not only canvases, but also very valuable portraits of the King and the Queen both in sculpture and paintings.


GOBLETS OF STARS 2010

Ancient Fortress of Carmignano, among  Medicean Hills of Montalbano, on 7th - 10th of august 2009

Also this year there will be the feast for lovers of wine and stars that takes place in the gardens of the Fortress. Producers and sommeliers present and offer typical wines DOC and DOCG from Carmignano together with Montalbano olive oil. During the evenings will take place music concerts, entertainment for children and some  astronomers will disclose the secrets of the vault of the sky.

In order to celebrate the Virgin Mary birthday, the famous Historical Parade will show through the city center streets until Piazza Duomo, where, during the evening, will be displayed the Sacred Belt



SEMPTEMBER 17TH – 18TH – 19TH IN POGGIO A CAIANO

The Siege of Villa Medici (26th edition) in Poggio a Caiano want to celebrate the commemoration of the stop at Villa Ambra made by the Princess Joan of Austria on her way to marry Grand Duke Francesco I de’ Medici in 1565.
There will be many events such as the folk parade, the Renaissance style market, food and wine stands, and musicians will perform in the town.
Awaited events are the dinner at the villa, with a Renaissance show, a free wine tasting, and the final fireworks as feast conclusion. www.assedioallavilla.it



SEPTEMBER 25TH – 26TH – 29TH IN CARMIGNANO 

In honour of Saint Michael, patron saint of Carmignano, it will celebrate in three evenings the Saint Michael Feast. Every evening local districts will perform with parades of allegorical floats and the famous Donkey Race.
